Far-field diverters have become a proven tool for improving hydraulic fracture geometry by controlling fracture growth, increasing complexity, and reducing frac driven interference in today’s tightly spaced developments. Field results across multiple basins show that properly designed far-field diversion can enhance stimulated reservoir volume while mitigating risk to offset wells. All with minimal impact to pumping operations. When combined with emerging tracer-enabled diverters, operators gain valuable insight into stage performance, fluid movement, and diversion effectiveness, turning fracture design into a more data-driven process.
